How To Use Mimosa Pudica For Parasites

Does the thought of having parasites make you cringe? That’s the reaction most of us have when presented with this uncomfortable subject. Unfortunately, parasites are more common than you think. In fact, it’s estimated that up to 1/3rd of Americans are infected. In this post, you’ll learn how to use mimosa pudica for parasites and other infections.

How To Use Mimosa Pudica For Parasites - Mimosa Pudica Plant

Since parasites are implicated in many chronic illnesses, it’s important to be aware of the symptoms they cause, the damage they incur, and beneficial strategies to eliminate them.

What Is Mimosa Pudica?

Mimosa pudica (MP), also referred to as “The Sensitive Plant,” is a tropical fern whose leaves close when touched. This is most likely a defense mechanism against herbivores. It is also called the “bashful or shrinking” plant due to this characteristic. MP is popular in many areas of the world, but is native to tropical America. It is both an annual and a perennial shrub with uniquely beautiful pink or light purple flowers. It is popularly used as a house plant, and has been used extensively in traditional medicine.

How We Get Parasites

Parasites are everywhere. Although, they’re often associated with third-world countries, those of living in the United States are not immune. We get them from contaminated food and water, improperly cooked meat, and unclean fruits and vegetables. Restaurant salad bars can be infectious breeding grounds for parasites.

You can even pick up parasites by walking barefoot. They can also be sexually transmitted or contracted through contaminated blood and feces. Tiny parasitic eggs can be transmitted from person-to-person through improper hygiene practices, such as neglecting to wash your hands after using the restroom. These microscopic eggs can be on any surface – door handles, tables, or money – any contaminated surface can be a source of transmission.

Travel to foreign countries is another potential source of parasitic infections. From single-celled protozoa to long tapeworms, there are many types and varieties of tapeworms. This is why the symptoms associated with them can be so varied. People with weakened immune systems are at an increased risk of getting parasites.

Protect yourself by taking measures to ensure that your body is inhospitable by keeping your immune system strong. This way viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens can’t take up residence, and wreak havoc on your immune, gastrointestinal, and endocrine systems.

How Parasites Wreak Havoc

While some people are able to live with parasites with have no observable effects, others become very ill, developing many symptoms, and experience a noticeable decline in health. Parasites are implicated in many chronic and unexplained illnesses due to the effect they have on the immune system.

The waste products parasites produce significantly ramps up body toxicity. This, along with an already weakened immune system, paves the way for many chronic conditions to develop. Autoimmunity, Lyme disease, IBS, arthritis, and virtually any other inflammatory condition, can be associated with parasites.

Parasitic infections lead to nutrient deficiencies because the pathogens consume valuable nutrition to ensure their survival.  This can lead to hunger, cravings, fatigue, and weight-loss. The eggs that parasite lay can cause itching, mood disturbances, and insomnia. They can even cause anemia by feeding off red blood cells.

Many people don’t suspect parasites as being the root cause of their chronic illnesses, but as you can see below parasites can cause a variety of distressing, unrelenting symptoms:

  •   Chronic digestive problems
  •   Exhaustion and chronic fatigue
  •  Headaches
  •  Bruxism or teeth grinding at night
  •  Anemia
  •  Depression and Anxiety
  •  Aching joints
  •  Food sensitivities
  • Chronic yeast infections
  • Skin irritations
  • Diarrhea, constipation, and vomiting
  • Unexplained weight loss
  • Unstable blood sugar

 Mimosa Pudica For Parasites

If you suspect you may have parasites based on the symptoms above, especially if you’ve recently traveled out of the country or you health has been steadily declining, get a stool test to confirm your suspicions. If an infection is confirmed, a comprehensive parasite protocol should be continued for at least 90 days in order to kill, not only adult parasites, but also their eggs.

Mimosa pudica is an Ayurvedic herb that has been found to be 30 times stronger than many anti-parasitics, and as effective as aspirin for reducing pain. The mechanism through which MP works is by having a paralyzing-effect on the pathogens. It is especially useful for liver flukes, worms, and intestinal nematodes. It also removes mucoid plaque, biofilms, and toxic debris from the intestines due to its stickiness.

MP can be used as a powder, which is the most effective or as capsules in the form of mimosa pudica seed, which acts more like an intestinal scrubber. Two teaspoons of the powder taken daily for six months should be sufficient to eradicate both adult parasites and their eggs. It’s imperative to use a binder when using MP, in order to mop up and eliminate parasitic toxic debris.

Herxheimer’s Reaction

You run the risk of incurring a Herxheimer’s reaction if you fail to use a binder when implementing a parasite protocol. A herxheimer’s reaction is an acute response to a pathogen or antibiotic protocol. It is cytokine-mediated and can be characterized by symptoms, such as muscle and bone pain, headaches, fatigue, irritability and nervousness, insomnia, skin breakouts, low-blood pressure, flushing,  and fever or chills.

Reactions are the result of the body trying to eliminate the toxins that pathogens release as they are destroyed. Symptoms occur because the body isn’t able to do this. Essentially, a reaction occurs when the parasites are killed faster than the body can expel them. This results in a backup of dead debris that gets recirculated if it can’t be eliminated, and is the reason why a person undergoing a pathogen protocol can feel much worse before they get better.

Taking a binder and implementing detox strategies are absolutely crucial when undergoing a parasite protocol because they can prevent herxing. Binders bind toxins so they can more easily be expelled through the digestive tract, and detox protocols keep the channels of elimination open to better facilitate this process.

There are a variety of binders that can be used, including algaes, clays, activated charcoal, modified citrus pectin, silica-based gels, along with certain acids and fibers. Always opt for a high-quality binder because many are contaminated. The brand you buy should be from a reputable source. Binders need to be taken away from food as they can bind nutrients.

It’s recommended to take your binder of choice at least 30 minutes before a meal or one hour after eating. This holds true for medications and supplements, as well. Binders can slow bowel transit time so always take with plenty of water. Taking a magnesium supplement is also a good idea to prevent constipation.

Key Points

If you consistently attend to your health, eat a nourishing diet, exercise, get enough sleep, and practice self-care, yet still have unresolved and unrelenting symptoms, it’s possible you may have parasites.

A good rule of thumb is to do a parasite cleanse every year just to cover your bases. Unhealthy diets, toxic exposures, and imbalances in the microbiome all create the perfect environment for parasites to thrive.

Practice good hygiene, stay away from improperly cooked foods, unfiltered water, toxic chemicals and environments to make your body an inhospitable place for parasites to inhabit. Managing your stress is also vital for a robust immune system. Processed foods, that are deplete in nutrients and high in sugar, depress immune function and feed both parasites and yeast. There’s a lot you can do on a daily basis to protect yourself against pathogenic invaders.

What has been you experience with parasites? Let me know in the comments:)

  1. Day 4 of taking MP pills. I have had more energy these last few days than I have had in years. I used to wake up energetic ready to go, but the last few years I have had brain fog and nothing worked to regain my energy levels…not coffee, exercising or even eliminating alcohol. On day 4 I felt something stringy being eliminated from me, and was totally grossed out. But I’m so thankful I started the MP treatment because I feel like it has saved me and I’m back to my energetic self!!!

  3. I feel like this plant has saved my life! I’ve been sick for the past five years with all types of parasites but a stool test never confirmed it. With this I definitely have rope worm pulling the string of ropes out and as days go by I’m still expelling all stages of the rope worm! The stuff is a miracle and has seriously saved my life!

  4. Hello, You say binders should be used in conjunction w Mimosa Pudica, can you elaborate please? I’m wondering if diatomaceous earth would be considered a binder or would it collect and expel the MP? Thank you, Karen

    • Hi Karen,

Yes, it’s a good idea to use a binder to mop up the toxic debris as the pathogens die. You can use diatomaceous earth as long as it’s food grade. Just be sure and don’t take them together. So for instance, take the MP with meals and the DE between meals. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

        • Hi Melinda,

It’s recommended to take binders 30-60 minutes after taking any supplements, medications, or food. Right before bed is another good time to take binders as we repair and detoxify at night. Binders will work most effectively when taken on an empty stomach. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  5. Hello, I’m from Germany and unfortunately there is no product of mimosa pudica seeds filled in capsules available here. Of course I could fill them in capsules myself but is there another way to take them beside tea?

A friend told me that it’s very hard to swallow the seeds because they stick to the tongue immediately 😊.

    Thanks very much in advance!

    • Hi Martina,

There is a company in New Jersey, here in the United States, called NutriCargo that sells Mimosa Pudica powder. You can buy a pound for $32.49, two pounds for $38.49 or a sample or $2.50 if you want to try it out. You could then capsule the powder yourself. I contacted them and they do ship to Germany. Here is the link I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    • Hi Nina,

Are you using a binder? Binders mop up the toxic debris that is left once parasites die. Also, if you aren’t already, I would start doing coffee enemas ASAP at least three times a week (if not more) while you’re addressing parasites. If toxins get recirculated, it can make you feel terrible. You mentioned that you feel sensations in your liver and bowel, which is another reason to expedite things by doing enemas. The faster you can get the parasites out of your system, the better you’ll feel. Parasites – are well parasitic – meaning they are stealing nutrients from you, which could in part explain your weight loss. Plus, they’re extremely draining on the immune and endocrine systems.

It sounds like you have your diet dialed in so I’m not sure I can offer any advice on that end. The enemas will be a godsend for constipation, as well. Vitamin C is a good call. You could even take more if needed. I’m not familiar with Holarhena, but if it blocks the absorption of carbohydrates, that could be another reason for a drop in weight. You also mentioned that it’s anti-diabetic, which I assume means that it’s lowering insulin, which would also make you lose weight. Are you still taking it now?

Also, look into cistus tea. It’s an amazing biofilm buster. Biofilms are slimy encasements that parasites sequester themselves in. Any type of pathogen is much easier to eradicate when biofilms are broken down. The tea is good for many different conditions, and is easy on the system. It would help to fortify your immune system and help to heal your intestinal lining, which would optimize nutrient absorption. Google “cistus tea and Dr. Deitrich Klinghardt” on YouTube. He’s been using the tea for years to help people with Lyme disease and autism.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help in any way I can…

    • I Nina. I have struggled with losing weight at times too. When on a low-carb diet as you mentioned, because you’re doing this cleanse, you can actually incorporate lots of avocado oil, olive oil, avocados (a whole one), and lots of nuts and seeds. You need this to keep your weight up. Another fun one would be mixing the seeds, nuts with nut butter (almond, peanut whatever), and eating those as snacks. I hope you can do this and you’ll find you can at least keep your weight up. It’s important at your age.

  8. Hi there! Thanks so far for all the useful information above. It’s been interesting reading through.

My daughter and I both have Dientamoeba Fragilis and the doctor has prescribed me (only) with a second course of antibiotics to eradicate it, but after hearing lots of good things about the Mimosa Pudica tincture, I am keen to know if I can take this (and a biofilm buster / enzyme defence) at the same time as the antibiotics to really kick ass?

Then for my daughter, who is 6, could she have the same Mimosa Pudica tincture as me, and what dosage is best for her? Also could she take a binder as well, and what would you recommend that isn’t the Cistus Tea or a tablet? Thanks!

    • Hi Jo,

Thank you for reading my post. Sorry to hear that you and your daughter have a parasite. I would talk with your doctor about taking mimosa in conjunction with an antibiotic. I would hate to lead you astray. Mimosa is safe to take with other herbs and supplements though. Be sure and take the biofilm buster on an empty stomach at least 30 minutes before you take the tincture. It’s best to take binders at least two hours away from both food and medication. You’ll have to develop a system for when to take what. Mental gymnastics for sure.

I would give your daughter 1/3rd of the dosage that you are taking, that is assuming you’re both within a normal weight. I would do that for the binder as well. Start low to note her reactions. You can also gradually increase the dose if she seems to be handling it. GI Detox, Pectasol-C, HM Complex and zeolite are all binders you could look into. They can all be found in powder form. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for your question. Binders are taken in conjunction with anti-microbials to mop up the toxic debris that is killed off. They also help breakdown biofilms, the slimy encasements that pathogens hide themselves in. This allows the anti-microbials to reach the virus or bacteria to better eradicate them. Binders prevent a die-off, or Herxheimer’s reaction, because they prevent the debris from getting recirculated. This is especially true if the liver or organs of detoxification aren’t functioning optimally.

Examples of binders include silica, clays, charcoals, pectin, chlorella, zeolite, or fulvic and humic acids. Binders should be taken at least two hours away from anti-microbials or medications. I hope that answered your question sufficiently. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  10. I heard Dr. Sebi talk about this plant. That’s why I bought it cause nothing else seems to be working. I’m vegan and I feel parasites in my thigh. There is a dark spot on my thigh and irritation near my pelvis etc. I will be using seamoss as binder to remove debris as Dr. Sebi stated. Are you familiar with seamoss? And is this an all natural plant with no additives? And if so what source or country can you get natural seamoss from?

    • Hi Mike,

I know sea moss is great for the immune system and is nutritionally dense, but I wasn’t aware of its properties as a binder. I will definitely be reading up on it. Thank you for the tip. I found Irish sea moss on Amazon, which is recommended by Dr. Sebi. I hope you get rid of your parasites soon. I’m so sorry!

  12. I have the capsules and have taken them in the past for a cleanse. I now have break outs on my chest. The largest one has. A big hard lump under the open sore. White worm like things come up to the surface and I can grab them with tweezers. They are stringy and mushy. The one that is mostly healed the skin is dark brown and not normal.
Can I open capsules and rub into the wounds? I have a hip replacement scheduled for next Wednesday and not supposed to take supplements right now. Also, would taking them orally still help a skin infestation?
I’m sorry if I creeped you out with the description.
    Thank you

    • Hi Irma, Oh, wow. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with mimosa. I haven’t personally used it topically, but give it a try. You never know what’s going to work. Yes, I think taking the pills orally could help. It sounds like your liver might need some tender loving care. Skin reactions can be the result of liver congestion. Best of luck to you with your hip replacement. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I’m living in the mountains and my internet connection has been spotty. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • Hi Max,

Mimosa should be taken on an empty stomach and at least 30 minutes away from the binder. So you could take the mimosa 30-60 minutes before breakfast and then wait and take the binder an hour after you eat. It’s a bit of a dance, but can be done. Best of luck to you. I’m happy to answer any other questions you have.
